Leader: Will the Lord listen to our prayers?

Children: Yes, for we are trying to keep his rules.

All: Guard us as the apple of your eye
Hide us in the shadow of your wings.

Leader: Come, let us call upon the Lord together.

Children: He will listen. He’s like that, you know!

All: Keep us safe from our enemies, O God,
And help us to see you in action.

Leader: You are righteous and you do right, O Lord

Children: We are too young to be important
But we remember what you tell us

All: Your righteousness is everlasting
And your law is true

Leader: Trouble and distress are part of our experience

Children: But we remember what you tell us.

All: Grant us understanding that we may live,
That we may have life in all its fullness.
